Joy Cavett has had much experience with enhancing a child’s overall development through music via Music with Joy with the Metropolitan Library System and SmartStart programs as well as private school instruction. She is both Kodaly and Kindermusik certified and holds a degree from Oklahoma City University in Vocal Performance.

Minda Ciardi has been a music educator for the past 14 years, teaching public, private, and homeschool students. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, vocal emphasis, from Abilene Christian University and a Masters of Arts in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She also holds a Certificate of Kodály Pedagogy from the University of North Texas. In addition to teaching duties, Minda has served as Director and Founder of Abilene Summer Sound, a music day camp at Abilene Christian University. Her other interests involve serving in leadership roles with Tōmy Friends (play therapy doll program) and Sam’s Place (orphanage for deaf children in Kenya). Minda lives in Norman with her husband and three daughters.
Emma Gee is a classically-trained pianist, accompanist, and piano instructor. She has been with COHC since 2015 and holds a B.M.A in Piano and an M.M. in Piano Performance. Emma is also a nationally certified teacher of music through MTNA, and she currently maintains a private piano studio in Edmond.

Kathy Gossen, COHC’s founding executive director, has been with the choirs since 2009 and taught nearly all the choirs at one time or another. She has a BME, Piano Emphasis, from Oklahoma Baptist University and a MME, Kodaly, from the University of Oklahoma. In addition to her many years of experience as both a public and private music instructor, she is also an author, homeschool blogger, and mom of three precious little girls.

Elizabeth Lopez joined COHC in 2013 and has served as Choral Director and for a brief stint as Executive Director. Elizabeth has a BM – Vocal Performance from Oklahoma Baptist University and has served in a various music, administrative, and ministry roles in the USA and other countries in which she has resided. When not teaching private vocal and piano lessons in Edmond, her time is devoted to her husband and daughter.

Pamela Matlick taught vocal music in Norman for twenty six years and under her direction the choirs received numerous Sweepstakes and Superior Ratings. She received her BME from Eastern Kentucky University and MME from Murray State University. For more than a decade she has served as a vocal adjudicator throughout Oklahoma for chorus, ensembles and soloists. In her spare time, she enjoys singing in her church choir and keeping up with her two grandsons.

Kayla Russell moved to Oklahoma from Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music (voice) with teacher certification from Lamar University. Prior to motherhood, she taught both elementary music and high school choir, and currently teaches voice to homeschool students in her private studio.

Kelly is a Texas native who earned her BME, vocal emphasis, from Baylor University, and is certified in Texas to teach All-level Music as well as Early Childhood. She earned her Montessori certificates through the Waco I. S. D., where she taught at the district’s Montessori Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts. She has directed elementary, youth, and adult choirs, and specialized in Early Childhood Music before leaving the public schools to begin her family. She continued to refine her teaching skills through homeschooling her children and presenting programs for the Brazoria County Library System’s Summer Reading Program. She also served as a District Director for the Houston Square and Round Dance Council, and as secretary for her square dance club. She has served both as a church pianist and a choir accompanist, and has recently begun tutoring elementary students in reading and math. For several years she wrote a Clicker Training column for Pony Pals Magazine, and in her spare time she enjoys square dancing; cooking; sewing; reading; playing games, watching old movies, and reading aloud with her family; and enjoying the family’s pets – two mules, three cats, and many chickens.
LAURA STOABS earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and then her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Laura is a solo practice attorney with a referral only Estate Planning practice. www.
