Welcome back! We can’t wait to get started singing together again. Below contains important information you will want to read prior to attending your first rehearsal next week (August 27 or 29).
Register PRIOR to Rehearsal
If you haven’t taken time to register, please register online PRIOR to rehearsal. This helps us to be better prepared for your children. All registrations must be completed online. You can do that here. And spread the word! Your friends still have a few days to register so they can join you!
First Rehearsal Know-How
In case you forgot your rehearsal time or location, you can check those out here. Edmond families, please enter via the south entrance (the backside of the building). Oklahoma City families, please enter via northwest Sanctuary doors closest to Villa Avenue. If a ramp entrance is needed, use the ground level north side center entry and then continue up the ramp immediately inside to your right. Norman families, please enter via the north doors. A volunteer will be waiting to guide you to your rehearsal rooms from there.
Orientation–All Parents Needed
This year orientation will coincide and actually be part of the first rehearsal at each site. Parents should expect to attend the first half of the first rehearsal with their oldest child of each rehearsal time. For example, if you have children in both Music Experience and Principio, please attend class with your Principio student. If you have children in both Illuminati and Bella Voce, please attend class with your Bella Voce student. If you have students rehearsing during different rehearsal times, please attend the beginning of class with each child (i.e. Principio and Bella Voce).
During the first half of the rehearsal, your child’s teacher will go over everything you need to know for your child to be successful with COHC this year. Following this short orientation, students will continue with their first rehearsal while parents check-in at the information table in the lobby to pay their tuition, sign EPIC forms, sign-up for volunteer opportunities (see below), and pick up their children’s t-shirts. EVERY parent/guardian needs to check it at the information table. So yes, please be patient with us. We hope to get everyone through in a timely manner.
BRING THESE NEXT WEEK
Students, please come with a sharpened pencil, a water bottle, and any items that your choral director may have already emailed you about.
Parents, please bring a completed medical release form, one for each child (you can download and print them here), and your first tuition payment (if you’d like to pay in person). You will also have the opportunity to purchase extra choir shirts if you’d like. If you are unable to print the medical form prior to your rehearsal next week, we will have a few extras available on site. Just be sure to bring your medical insurance information so that you can complete it on-site. You will need to know the date of your child’s last tetanus booster, physician’s contact information, insurance and current prescription information.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are asking parents to volunteer in at least one capacity this year to help us better serve our students. There will be a sign-up available at the information table the first day of rehearsal for you to sign up for the volunteer position(s) that interests you most. Be thinking about which opportunities you would be most interested in helping. Opportunities include assisting during rehearsals, concerts, the Solo & Ensemble Festival, our OCHEC convention booth, or serving on the COHC board.
Extra T-shirts
Each student will receive a t-shirt with their enrollment. Extra t-shirts will also be for sale at orientation for $10 each, first come.
Updated Calendar
The calendar has been updated over the last few weeks. Be sure to download the latest calendar here to be in-the-know this fall. We do not expect any changes from here on out. You can also obtain a printed copy of our calendar at the information table the first day of rehearsal.
