Registration for 2020-2021 will open on June 1st. Stay tuned!
I have sent an email to all 2020 seniors, but several of those emails have bounced back to me. If you did not receive an email, please let me know ASAP (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Two More Weeks
You will receive two more weeks of online lessons and Zoom meetings. Thank you all for your dedication to our choirs during this time.
To Find Weekly Online Materials
We have added a new (and hopefully easier) way to access the weekly online materials. Simply follow these directions.:
- Type in our website address: https://centralokhomeschoolchoirs.com/
- Find the words “Member Corner” on the top menu area and hover your mouse.
- Find the words “Weekly Online Lessons & Materials” under that menu, then a sub menu should appear to the right.
- Move your mouse to the right and scroll down to the option you want (example: Week 2) and click.
- Enter the password. (Same password as the last 2 weeks.) Email email@example.com if you need it resent.)
Note: The new week’s materials will be available by each Monday at 9:00 am.

Have you lived anywhere else besides your current town? I was born in Waco, Texas. I lived near Ponder (northwest of Denton) for six years, then moved “home” to Alvin, Texas for thirteen years. Who would have thought I would love “Hurricane Country” so much! And now, I’m someplace else I love!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Play the trumpet!
Most adventurous place you’ve traveled to:
Athens, Greece It’s pretty exciting to be at the Plaka and barely catch the last bus back to the hotel!
Favorite family vacation: The Houston Square and Round Dance Hoedown in Galveston – Three days of dancing!
What is something you learned in the last week? Oh my! I have learned (and am learning more every day) how to use iMovie, and combine it with Keynote and screen recording to make lesson videos. It has been such fun!
What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.) Well, dark chocolate, of course. And I do love a cup of hot black tea.
The Adventures of Robin Hood, with Errol Flynn.Hatari, with John Wayne, is a close second.
What is your favorite thing to do? I love to read, sew, cook for my family, and just sit at the piano and play and sing hymns.
Favorite composer or musical performer:
Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer! I also really like John Williams. My favorite singers are Bing Crosby, John Denver, and Weird Al Yankovic. And I love Phil Coulter’s music.
I’m not sure I can pick one. I love the Book of Psalms, but I also love Proverbs. My favorite book series is (actually there are two related series) by David Eddings – The Belgariad and The Mallorean (five books each). And one of my favorite books is Frog, the Horse that Knew No Master. I read it multiple times as a child, I have read it twice in the last two years, and I actually own the library copy I frequently checked out as a child. (I bought it at the library book sale!)
You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why?
Wow, that bears some thinking about. Benjamin Franklin, for sure! He was such an amazing, multi-faceted person, and so important in the history of our country.
Michael Jordan – I admire so much that he was willing to give professional baseball a try, and he wasn’t ashamed to do something at which he might not have the same success as in other endeavors. He is such an amazing role model for both youth and adults.
My parents (yes, I know that brings the number to four). They were the finest people I’ve known (in addition to my husband and children). My father lived a life of integrity, and my mother exemplified love.
What’s the most interesting job you’ve ever had? Teaching music at an inner-city, public, Montessori Magnet School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you: I rehabilitated an abused rescue mule with clicker training. He and I learned together.
Social Media Challenge
This next week I challenge you to post a pic of you wearing a COHC t-shirt!
