The Board and I would like to officially introduce you to our interim directors.
Illuminati
Brittany Clark is from Mobile, AL, and earned her degree in Vocal Performance from William Carey in Hattiesburg, MS. She went on to achieve a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy from UCO, the first recipient of this honor. Over 25 years, Brittany’s rich musical journey spans diverse choirs—Jazz, gospel, classical, church, and pop—mirroring her fervor for teaching music. Notably, she founded and directed her university’s first female jazz group- The Songbirds.
Alongside her partner, who holds his guitar performance degree from OCU, Brittany co-owns BC Clark Music. Their studio nurtures 25 students, spanning ages 4 to 64, guiding them in piano, voice, and guitar. Brittany’s roles extend to directing choirs at Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, leadership at Saint John’s parish church, and guiding music for International Baptist Missions in Peru. Today, she eagerly lends her expertise to the budding talents of the Illuminati group and thanks the organization for offering this opportunity to serve in the choral community!
Music Experience
Danita Tippet has had privilege of homeschooling her children for the past 16 years. As a mother of five, whose children’s ages range from Pre-K to 11th grade, she has gained a wealth of experience in guiding young minds towards success. As a student, Danita participated competitively in large ensembles, small ensembles, musical and readers’ theatre, oral interpretation of poetry, and vocal solos. Additionally, she has played the piano for congregational worship for many years.
Danita’s family is currently involved at First Baptist Church in Edmond, where she teaches and sings with the elementary children on Wednesday nights through the Awana program. She was also excited to be invited to lead the music for the 2023 EFB VBS program and sings in their adult choir. Danita strives to provide a nurturing environment where children can flourish academically, spiritually, and emotionally, while also gaining a clear understanding of musical technique and literacy through play.
COHC has been blessed to have such gifted musical talent join our staff! Please help them feel welcome.
